Special Assets Support Specialist
Zions Bancorporation is currently hiring a Special Assets Support Specialist to join our Salt Lake City team.
Position Overview
The Special Assets Support Specialist works within Credit Administration, which is responsible for the overall credit quality of the Bank’s loan portfolio. The Department approves loan transactions, manages the problem loan portfolio, and coordinates lending functions. The role focuses on loans and credit relationships where borrowers face financial difficulty, working to restore credit or minimize loss exposure.
Key Responsibilities
Provide support to the special assets group and loan workout officers in the administration of the special asset portfolio.
Assist with analytical reporting and research related to servicing, liquidating, and restructuring problem loan relationships and assets.
Maintain documentation control and credit files for the loan transfer process.
Track covenant compliance, tickler system, public record filings, client correspondence, loan payments/extensions, and collateral insurance.
Order appraisals, broker price opinions, environmental and foreclosure reports, and monitor collateral insurance.
Maintain files, input data, follow, monitor, and clear exception reports.
Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required.
2–4+ years of experience with loans, documentation, credit review, lending analysis, policies, procedures, and reporting, or equivalent related experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and collaborate effectively as a team member.
Strong judgment, time management, customer service, and problem‑resolution skills.
Proficient in computer software, including spreadsheets and word processing.
Preferred knowledge of loans, credit reviews, foreclosures, taxes, insurance, appraisals, and commercial, consumer, and business analysis.
