Oradeo Recruitment are seeking an experienced
Senior Quantity Surveyor
to join a leading contractor on major data centre projects in Dublin. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a high-performing commercial team on large-scale, technically complex developments in Dublin & across Northern Europe.
The Senior QS will play a key role in project delivery, leading the commercial management of projects while working closely with project leadership. The position suits a confident professional capable of taking ownership of project finances, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring strong commercial performance. It offers an excellent opportunity for career progression and long-term development, while maintaining positive client and stakeholder relationships.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage project risk, cost control, and value engineering across assigned projects to ensure commercial performance and financial efficiency
Advise on procurement strategy and develop project-specific procurement schedules
Lead subcontractor tendering processes, including preparation of documentation, bid analysis, and appointment of subcontractors within budget
Administer subcontract packages, covering interim payments, final accounts, claims management, and retention
Support main contract administration, including interim valuations and agreement of final accounts with clients
Manage change control by identifying, valuing, and administering variations in line with contract requirements
Assist with monthly cost reporting, including cost/value reconciliations, cash flow forecasting, and project cost updates
Mentor and support junior and project Quantity Surveying staff
Identify, assess, and manage commercial risks, providing regular reporting and updates to stakeholders
Strong time management, communication, and IT skills required, with the ability to prepare accurate reports and administer contracts effectively
Site-based role with hybrid flexibility, primarily across projects in the Greater Dublin area
Necessary skills and requirements
B.Sc. in Construction Economics or Quantity Surveying
4–5 years’ experience operating at Senior Quantity Surveyor level
Proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget
Chartered status (MSCSI/MRICS) or currently progressing through the APC process preferred
Strong time management and organisational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
IT proficient, with experience in Microsoft Office and industry software such as Cubit, CostX, or COINS
