Responsibilities
Teach plumbing principles, systems, and safe work practices in both classroom and worksite settings.
Guide inmate work crews while monitoring performance and maintaining order.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, training progress, and daily assignments.
Issue, track, and account for all materials and tools used during training and work assignments.
Identify needed materials and submit purchase requests to support plumbing projects.
Promote safe conduct through searches, inspections, and consistent application of facility rules.
Work Schedule and Additional Information
Full‑time employment, 40‑hour work week.
Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday – Friday.
This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $51,868.00 (before taxes).

Qualifications
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements
Five years of experience in the inspection, maintenance, repair, assembly, and installation of pipes, fittings, and fixtures used in heating, water, and drainage systems.
Completion of an approved apprenticeship in the plumbing trade.
An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year of journey‑level work in the plumbing trade.
Other Requirements
You must successfully complete basic training in Elizabethtown, PA.
You must meet the Pennsylvania residency requirement.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements
You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
Telecommunications Relay Service (TRS)
