Positions:

Mobile Diesel Technician Level II

Responsibilities

Perform scheduled preventative maintenance ("PM"), DOT inspections and follow‑up repairs on light, medium and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.

Perform minor adjustments and repairs on various types of truck equipment including, but not limited to, electrical, brake, cooling, starter/alternator, fan clutch, engine electronics, diesel steering, engine (gas and diesel), transmission (manual and automatic), clutch, differential, etc.

Diagnose, adjust, and repair various types of truck equipment including electrical, brake, cooling, air‑conditioning, fan clutch, engine electronics, diesel steering, engine, transmission, clutch, differential, etc.

Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges.

Road‑test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and confirm proper operation.

Identify problems, determine the accuracy and relevance of information, using sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives.

Independently manage parts inventory and equipment on the company‑issued service truck, performing periodic reconciliations.

Maintain and operate the company‑issued service vehicle, conduct safety checks, and perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections.

Work with and listen to clients and customers to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, and resolve problems.

Manage concurrent assigned tasks, prioritizing work activities and time allocations effectively.

Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks.

Document work according to company standards and upload pictures, parts used, and findings on repair orders (RO) using the proprietary TRAIT application on a company‑issued iOS device.

Accurately complete DOT forms and all other required documentation in a timely manner.

Work independently and manage daily schedule.

Maintain a high level of productivity and work within or near the standard repair times.

Obtain parts from approved vendors as necessary for repairs.

Communicate with management and support teams via email or phone to obtain approvals on repair estimates, purchase order numbers, and discuss RO findings.

Perform all work in compliance with organizational safety, health, environmental policies, and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT).

Maintain the company‑issued service truck, conduct safety checks, and perform daily pre/post‑trip inspections.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED and 3 years of experience in a related field (alternative combinations accepted).

Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.

Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within eighteen (18) months.

Candidate must pass a DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment.

A current DOT medical card with more than four (4) months remaining may be submitted in lieu of a DOT physical. If four (4) months or less remain, a DOT physical will be required.

Candidate must be at least 21 years of age.

Valid driver’s license (state of residence). Must maintain a Driver Qualification File.

Compensation

Hourly pay range: $26.73 – $40.10 per hour.

Position may include commission or incentive bonuses.
