Responsibilities
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
Make minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment such as electrical, brake, cooling, starter/alternator, fan clutches, engine electronics, steering systems, diesel engines, transmissions, clutches, and differentials.
Diagnose, adjust, and repair various equipment using test instruments and handheld computers.
Road‑test vehicles to confirm repairs and proper operation.
Identify problems, assess alternatives, and use sound judgment to solve issues.
Manage parts inventory, reconcile on a periodic basis, and maintain the company‑issued service truck with safety checks.
Document work, upload photos and parts details to Repair Orders via the proprietary TRAIT application on an iOS device.
Complete DOT forms and all required documentation timely.
Apply independently, schedule work, and meet productivity targets within standard repair times.
Source parts from approved vendors as needed.
Communicate with management and support teams for repair estimates, purchase orders, and findings.
Work in compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other safety, health, and environmental policies.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED and at least 3 years of related experience; alternative combinations of education or 5 years of experience are acceptable.
Supply a set of hand tools required for the job.
Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
Complete DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical, or provide a DOT medical card with more than 4 months validity.
Be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; maintain a Driver Qualification File.
