
Senior Accountant - Irvine, CA

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant to join our accounting team. This role will help with key accounting functions including external audit support, monthly close, cost analysis, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in manufacturing accounting, a deep understanding of GAAP, and a passion for driving process improvements and efficiencies.
Responsibilities
Lead and support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Manage external audit activities, coordinating with auditors and internal stakeholders to ensure a smooth audit process
Conduct detailed cost analysis and collaborate with operations to ensure accurate product costing
Perform account reconciliations, including bank statements, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
Ensure financial statements are prepared in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), with timely and accurate variance analyses provided to management
Identify and implement financial procedures and best practices to increase operational efficiency and effectiveness
Maintain and strengthen internal controls and compliance across all accounting processes
Collaborate cross-functionally with departments including Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance to support business initiatives and improvements
Participate in special projects, ERP system enhancements, automation initiatives, and reporting improvements
Provide support to corporate and subsidiary accounting teams on a variety of financial activities
Qualifications
Bachelor7s degree in Accounting required
Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including monthly close, financial statement preparation, and external audit management.
Experience with financial audits, including preparation of audit schedules and assisting with the audit process
Solid understanding of manufacturing accounting, including inventory valuation and cost accounting principles
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including advanced functions and data manipulation)
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Impeccable attention to detail and accuracy
Experience using QuickBooks Online
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) or similar ERP systems is a plus
Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
Must be available to work on-site in Irvine, CA, Monday through Friday
