
Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant – responsible for managing complex accounting tasks, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing accurate financial reporting using a strong attention to detail, critical thinking and analysis. This role will report directly to the Controller and will support the month-end close and audit process.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and company policies.
Perform monthly reconciliations of accounts to maintain accurate financial records and identify discrepancies.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies, errors, or inconsistencies in a timely manner using analytical and critical thinking skills.
Prepare and post journal entries as needed to maintain the integrity of the general ledger.
Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes, ensuring adherence to deadlines.
Use critical thinking to analyze financial trends, identify anomalies, and recommend solutions for process improvement
Assist in the preparation for audits by providing necessary documentation and supporting information to external auditors.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding financial reporting and tax obligations.
Ad-hoc reporting & analysis to support accounting leadership
Qualifications / Education
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred
2+ years of experience in general ledger accounting including account reconciliations and journal entry preparation
Preferred Qualifications
Health Insurance experience
Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience
Microsoft Excel – intermediate to advanced
