Position Overview
Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a 13‑week assignment in Crown Point, Indiana.

Responsibilities
Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved obstetric nursing techniques.
Prepare equipment and aid physicians during labor, delivery, and examination of patients.
Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn.
Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care.
Respond to obstetric emergencies, including preeclampsia, hemorrhage, or fetal distress, using evidence‑based protocols.
Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the medical record.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes.
Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results.
Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures.
Comply with all regulatory standards, including hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines for obstetric nursing care.
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of labor and delivery nursing.
Required Qualifications
At least one year of recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN.
Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification.
STABLE and ACLS certifications (AHA/ARC).
Other certifications and licenses may be required.
Essential Skills

Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions; PC proficiency.
Physical abilities to remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.

Technical/motor skills to grasp, perform fine manipulation, and assist with procedures.
