Job Summary
Embry‑Riddle Aeronautical University is recruiting for a Student Employment Specialist in the Human Resources department at the Prescott campus. The role supports student employment hiring initiatives, working under the Director of Student Employment (Daytona Beach, FL). The department hires roughly 900 student workers per year and the position is a full‑time, exempt role with benefits.

Responsibilities

Record, maintain, and report hiring information.

Respond to all internal and external HR inquiries from employees, students, and visitors.

Perform administrative tasks to support student recruitment, including the hiring process.

Hire and onboard student employees; conduct training sessions with hiring managers and provide background screening assistance; conduct orientation and benefit reviews for new hires.

Assist students and hiring supervisors with Workday functionality.

Ensure new hire documents comply with federal and state regulations, including updating EQUIFAX records and re‑verifications.

Support student worker and manager training and development.

Manage campus events for student employees, including the annual Student Employee Appreciation Week.

Resolve student worker concerns and issues.

Distribute weekly, monthly, and term‑based communications to specific cohorts, ensuring strong communication among all parties.

Maintain office supplies for the department.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Proven track record of excellent customer service to internal and external customers.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

Proactive, with a focus on process improvement.

Detail‑oriented and capable of multitasking.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Discretion in handling confidential information.

Organized and consistently follows up on tasks.

Effective collaboration with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and educational levels.

Knowledge of principles, practices, and standards of Human Resources administration.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.

Experience in recruitment, onboarding, and working knowledge of state and federal employment regulations.

Higher education experience.
