Assistant Buyer

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Buyer Assistant to support our Purchasing Department. This role works closely with Buyers and serves as a key liaison between Purchasing and other departments, including Accounting and Warehouse Operations. The Buyer Assistant plays a critical role in maintaining accurate data, organizing documentation, and ensuring efficient communication with internal teams and suppliers.

What you’ll do

Cross-check systems to ensure data accuracy and consistency

Support communication between Buyers and suppliers

Accurately enter receiving and purchasing data into internal systems

Organize and maintain records including contracts, memos, and reports

Ensure timely responses to communications and maintain well-organized, accessible documentation

Support the VP of Purchasing and Buyers in day-to-day purchasing operations

Monitor inventory levels and assist in planning purchases to meet customer demand

Communicate with vendors to confirm product details, pricing, and delivery schedules

Track market trends and compile reports to inform purchasing decisions

Collaborate with warehouse and quality control teams to ensure product quality and resolve issues

Handle administrative responsibilities such as purchase orders, records, and reports to keep the department running smoothly

Qualifications

Strong organizational and analytical skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Self-motivated with a willingness to learn

Comfortable in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Some exposure to purchasing, supply chain, or foodservice industry preferred
