Job Summary
BGIS is seeking a Maintenance Technician (Stationary) to join the team in Ruskin, FL. The role involves operating the facility, performing routine and on‑demand maintenance for mechanical and other building systems, and ensuring compliance with environmental, health, safety, and fire protection regulations.
Responsibilities
Identify and diagnose facility mechanical and electrical equipment issues, and provide enhancement and repair suggestions.
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and corrective repairs according to established processes.
Ensure compliance with all internal and external requirements, including environmental, health, safety, and fire protection.
Conduct routine facility inspections, monitoring, and walkthroughs for mechanical, electrical, and other building systems.
Respond to routine and on‑demand service requests and perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
Operate facility mechanical systems and manage the work order life cycle from dispatch to completion, recording data in the service maintenance database.
Assist in implementing the preventive maintenance program, recording deficiencies and escalating as needed.
Enhance tenant and customer satisfaction through professional service delivery.
Participate in facility‑related projects and maintain compliance with corporate and legislative policies.
Maintain tools, arrange for repairs and replacements, and submit expenditures in a timely manner.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED, plus trades training, certification or licensing.
Minimum 3 years of experience in preventive and corrective maintenance of HVAC, pneumatic or hydraulic systems.
Strong knowledge of facility operations, maintenance processes and building automation systems (BAS).
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical and building systems.
Strong environmental, health and safety mindset.
Client‑service orientation and a high sense of urgency.
Effective communication skills for data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification.
Mentoring skills to support lower‑level technicians.
Availability for shifts, on‑call, standby and emergency callouts as required.
Strict adherence to health and safety policies, including required PPE.
Capability to obtain appropriate security clearance.
Knowledge and understanding of HVAC systems.
Physical Demands
Work at heights and from ladders.
Regular walking, use of hands and fingers, handling objects, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling.
Regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
Respond to off‑hour emergency calls.
