Overview

The Operations & Information Systems (OIS) Department at the Robert J. Manning School of Business, University of Massachusetts Lowell, invites applications for up to two Manning Endowed Professor positions in Information Systems (focus in AI, AIS, Data Analytics) and Operations Management (focus in SCM, Business Analytics). These two professors will lead department activities in research, teaching and community engagement. The Manning School of Business is AACSB-accredited and serves 3,750+ students across undergraduate and graduate programs. The university is located 30 miles northwest of Boston and is an R-1 research institution with over 18,000 students on campus.
Appointments

Open rank appointments (Full, Associate, or senior level/seasoned Assistant Professor) based on qualifications.
Up to two Manning Endowed Professor positions (one in Information Systems, one in Operations Management).

Endowed Professor Benefits

Competitive 9-month base salary plus 1-month summer salary annually.

Qualifications

AI/AIS/Data Analytics Specialization

Minimum Qualifications (Required):
Ph.D. in Business Administration with concentration in IS/AIS from an AACSB-accredited business school or closely related area.
Experience teaching at the college level.
Record of high-quality peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations.
At least 3 or more years as an Assistant Professor (for Associate Professor appointment) at a research university.
Experience on dissertation committees.
Preferred Qualifications:
3–5 years teaching AI/AIS/Data Analytics (preferably in a business school).
Demonstrated research in business applications of AI-Analytics, AIS, etc.
Experience on editorial review boards in leading journals (ERB member, AE/SE/DE).
Experience with online teaching.
Evidence of external funding activity.
Strong collaboration skills across faculty and programs.
Supply Chain and Business Analytics Specialization

Minimum Qualifications (Required):
Ph.D. in Business Administration with concentration in OM/SCM from an AACSB-accredited business school or closely related area.
Experience teaching at the college level.
Record of peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations.
At least 3 or more years as an Assistant Professor (for Associate Professor appointment) at a research university.
Experience on dissertation committees.
Preferred Qualifications:
3–5 years teaching Supply Chain Analytics (preferably in a business school).
Demonstrated research in business applications of Operations, SCM or Business Analytics.
Experience on editorial review boards in leading journals (ERB member, AE/SE/DE).
Experience with online teaching.
Evidence of external funding activity.
Strong collaboration skills across faculty and programs.
Special Instructions to Applicants

Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until positions are filled. The search may close once an adequate pool of qualified applicants is identified. Members of the search committee will be present at major conferences (e.g., INFORMS, DSI, ICIS) to meet and answer questions, but no formal interviews will be conducted at the conferences.
