Overview
SILTT is searching for a dynamic and highly motivated Procurement & Supply Chain Manager responsible for supporting the full lifecycle of purchasing activity, including supplier sourcing, RFQ’s, PO creation, cost/lead-time negotiations, vendor management, sourcing, and procurement planning. This role ensures timely sourcing of materials and services, maintains supplier quality and compliance requirements, and coordinates closely with Global Sustainment and Engineering to ensure inventory availability and continuity of supply across the organization. Candidates must be capable of understanding technical specifications and have a vast network of vendors to source mission‑critical infrastructure material.
Responsibilities
Execute end-to-end procurement processes including RFQ’s, vendor quotations, bid analysis, sourcing decisions, and PO issuance.
Identify reliable suppliers, evaluate vendor capabilities, and conduct supplier quality assessments.
Negotiate pricing, volume discounts, delivery terms, and service agreements.
Maintain and update approved supplier lists (ASL).
Work with engineering, warehouse, and operations teams to qualify new materials and suppliers.
Support accurate material master data, lead times, product pricing, and sources.
Support MRP-driven purchasing and reconcile discrepancies in demand planning.
Track supplier deliveries, backorders, and shortages; proactively resolve issues.
Monitor slow-moving, excess, and obsolete materials; drive corrective actions in collaboration with warehouse staff.
Add quality flowdowns to POs per material requirements received from Engineering.
Collaborate with Warehouse Operations on incoming materials inspection procedures based on supplier quality and Certificate of Compliance requirements.
Work with Warehouse/QA teams on NCRs, RMA processes, and supplier corrective actions.
Support compliance with organizational, contractual, and regulatory requirements for critical materials, including hazmat-related materials when applicable.
Collaborate with Warehouse Specialists on shipping/receiving schedules, packaging, and material flow.
Work with Finance on PO reconciliation, invoice discrepancies, accruals, and setting up vendor accounts and terms.
Communicate supplier risks or delays to leadership with recommended mitigation strategies.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field; or equivalent experience.
6+ years of procurement, purchasing, or supply chain experience.
Experience with RFQ/PO processes, sourcing, and supplier negotiations.
Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
Strong ability to read technical specifications, drawings, and material requirements.
Understanding of warehouse, inventory, and receiving processes.
Hazmat shipping/storage certification or ability to obtain.
Skills & Competencies
Experience in manufacturing, aerospace, telecom, or logistics environments.
Supplier quality experience (SCARs, NCR facilitation, RMA handling).
Material planning or master data experience.
Work Location
Hybrid. The work associated with this role is preferred to be performed on‑site, though may be performed from home as needed, and will require planned attendance at SILTT HQ in Leesburg, VA for company meetings and project events.
