Project Manager - Commercial Interiors
AlphaX, Jacksonville, FL, United States
We are looking for a Project Manager to lead commercial interior build‑out and tenant improvement projects in a general contractor environment, with full ownership from preconstruction through closeout. This role focuses on office and light industrial renovations, working directly with landlords, tenants, and subcontractors to deliver fast‑paced projects tied to occupancy timelines. The position requires hands‑on execution, not just coordination, with responsibility for budgets, schedules, and field performance. This is a critical role supporting a steady pipeline of small‑to‑mid‑size commercial projects with high expectations for speed and quality.
Responsibilities
Oversee multiple commercial interior build‑out and tenant improvement projects from estimating through final delivery
Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring timelines align with tenant occupancy and leasing deadlines
Build and maintain detailed project budgets, tracking costs and identifying variances early
Manage subcontractors across trades, ensuring work quality, sequencing, and accountability on active job sites
Review construction drawings, specifications, and scopes to ensure accurate execution in the field
Interface directly with clients, landlords, and stakeholders to provide updates and resolve issues in real time
Coordinate permitting, inspections, and closeout documentation for each project
Identify and resolve project risks, delays, and field challenges to keep projects on track
Support estimating efforts for new projects, including takeoffs, pricing, and scope development
Requirements
5+ years of experience managing commercial construction projects, specifically interior build‑outs or tenant improvements
Experience working in a general contractor or subcontractor environment with direct project ownership
Strong understanding of commercial office or light industrial renovation projects (ground‑up only experience will not be sufficient)
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and scopes
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment
Proficiency with construction management tools and scheduling software
Strong subcontractor management and field coordination experience required
Must have hands‑on project execution experience (not solely coordination or support roles)
Benefits
Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience. Benefits may include health insurance, retirement plan options, paid time off, and other company-sponsored programs.
