People Operations Generalist
The People Operations Generalist provides day-to-day HR support across the full employee lifecycle while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across multiple jurisdictions. This role serves as a key partner to employees, managers, and the People Operations team by supporting employee relations, leave administration, onboarding/offboarding, policy application, and HR operations in a multi-state environment.
The ideal candidate has a strong working knowledge of multi-state employment regulations (including wage and hour laws, leave requirements, and employee protections) and thrives in a fast-paced, growing organization. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, discretion when handling sensitive matters, and the ability to apply policies consistently while adapting to state-specific requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits, employee relations, and escalate to the People Operations Manager when necessary.
Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
Act as the bridge between Recruiting and People Operations, walking new hires through onboarding.
Oversee the Hire and Termination lifecycle in ADP Workforce Now and other systems.
Full-cycle management of Leave of Absence and ADA accommodation requests for the office, tracking and communicating them to the broader team.
Respond to inquiries from the Department of Labor regarding unemployment information.
Run and analyze reports.
Assist with employee engagement initiatives, participating in the planning and execution of events.
Maintain compliance with federal and state employment regulations and ensure the office has the required posters.
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
At least 3 years of human resource experience required.
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, and PowerPoint).
Proficient in utilizing ADP Workforce required.
Hands-on experience administering Leave of Absence (LOA) and Workers' Compensation cases, including compliance and documentation required.
Professional-level writing and verbal communication skills.
Well-developed interpersonal skills and professional demeanor, with an ability to interact with employees and others at any level within an organization.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Excellent attention to detail.
Strong communicator, including solid telephone and writing skills.
Excellent listening and follow-through skills.
SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR Certified is a plus.
Schedule/Location:
Hybrid: Dallas (3 days in office)
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 am-5:00 pm
