Market Specialist - Electric & Gas Utilities

As a critical member of the Market team, the Market Specialist for Electric and gas utilities will collaborate closely with Integrated Solution Specialists to support the development of integrated solution offerings across the Infrastructure Advisory and Black & Veatch sector portfolio. This role leverages integrated solutions expertise to influence solution development, sales enablement, and client engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Support the development of integrated solutions offerings in collaboration with IA solution leaders and market team leads.
Individually contribute to integrated solution offering development and value creation.
Research and apply market and subject matter expertise to integrated solution engagement and lead such integrated projects / solutions, where applicable.
Translate market insights into actionable strategies that inform solution development and positioning.
Support Integrated Solutions Strategists in driving pursuit strategy and solution value proposition.
Support client account managers and partners to facilitate and orchestrate customer solutions, offerings, and partnerships.
Develop a structured approach and process to share external market intelligence among the markets and solutions teams.
Work closely with solution execution teams to ensure market needs are reflected in solution design and delivery.
Participate in rapid prototyping and testing of new offerings in collaboration with solutions and technical teams.
Provide feedback and insights to improve solution relevance and competitiveness.
Facilitate and orchestrate integrated solutions opportunities.
Develop trusting relationships with internal stakeholders including CAMs, CAPs, sales professionals, and solutions leads.
Build relationships across consulting, engineering, and sales teams.
Support external engagement with clients, industry partners, and ecosystem collaborators.
Represent the voice of the market in internal forums and planning sessions.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting go‑to‑market strategy or solution development in a technical services environment.
Typically 8+ years experience in the electric power or natural gas distribution or utility industry, preferably in management consulting, strategy, or business development role.
Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
Certifications related to the area of expertise, where applicable, preferred.
Strong analytical and communication skills.
Ability to work cross‑functionally and manage multiple priorities.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or relevant work experience.
7+ years experience in a business/consulting environment.
Work Environment
Travel up to 50%.
