Minimum Requirements
A high school diploma or its equivalent and seven (7) years of professional or nonprofessional experience in radio or television productions or programming; or
A bachelor's degree (4 years) from an accredited college or university with a major in communications, broadcasting, or English and three (3) years of professional experience in radio or television productions or programming. Requires possession of a valid Driver License.

Job Duties
This is a highly responsible position that requires excellent organizational, project and time management skills to write, produce, and direct audio and video programs in the areas of public affairs, information, education and promotion. The incumbent must be a creative storyteller and work within a team to deliver high-quality scripts for audio-video productions; ascertain the scope and complexity of a project and manage the full production process (scheduling shoots, conducting interviews, transcribing narration); manage multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment; work with internal and external clients who may be inexperienced in audio-video production to refine messages; represent the department with professionalism and strong customer service; be proactive and detail-oriented; possess excellent verbal and written communication skills; demonstrate strong computing skills; respond quickly to changing priorities; travel statewide on short notice as needed.
Pre-Production
work includes developing ideas for audio/video material, planning and scheduling projects, researching and writing interview questions and scripts, checking factual accuracy, establishing direction and tone, identifying and scheduling props, equipment and personnel; scouting locations; casting on-camera and voice talent; meeting production deadlines; and building relationships within the department and industry to support research and development of programming.
Production
work includes coordinating assignments during production; lighting sets and field locations; operating professional broadcast-quality video cameras; directing on-camera talent and scenes; conducting interviews; scheduling and directing technical personnel; ensuring footage meets client specifications; coordinating with outside production companies and vendors to procure equipment and support and to obtain quick assistance in case of equipment issues.
Editing and Post-Production
work includes assisting with non-linear video editing on the Mac platform; evaluating productions for aesthetic and technical quality; meeting deadlines; logging and digitizing raw footage; ensuring projects meet quality control standards and technical specifications of end clients.
General Operations, Maintenance, Development and Enhancement
includes staying current with trends, managing inventory, researching and recommending equipment and software; maintaining editing capabilities; keeping production records and an archive; complying with copyright laws; negotiating recording contracts and waivers; coordinating with vendors and university partners; interfacing with finance for purchase orders and invoices; and other duties as required.
Video Presentation Events
involve scouting venues, contracting vendors, onsite setup, execution and strike, and coordinating with department staff and partners during events.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Proficiency in writing short-form and long-form scripts.
Proficiency in researching, scheduling and conducting interviews.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
Ability to prioritize work.
Ability to be detail oriented.
Ability to carry equipment weighing over 40 pounds for extended periods.
Ability to assist in operating professional broadcast-quality video cameras (HD and/or 4K) and/or still photography.
Understanding of Adobe Creative Cloud software with emphasis on Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop.
Understanding of non-linear editing on Mac platform.
