The Role
The VP, Programmatic Revenue will lead the commercial strategy, go‑to‑market, and revenue generation for all automated CTV/OTT business at Cast Iron. This leader will own the programmatic revenue gameplan, manage key DSP/SSP and trading desk partnerships, and closely collaborate with the General Market Sales team to maximize demand and yield across Cast Iron’s portfolio.
This is a highly visible, revenue-driving role that combines deep programmatic expertise and strategy with a strong sales leadership mindset and the ability to translate complex ad tech into scalable commercial opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and lead the overall automated/programmatic revenue strategy, including annual and quarterly gameplans to hit and exceed programmatic revenue targets.
- Develop and implement a strategic sales plan (PG, PMP, self‑serve) across agency, DSP/SSPs, and select brands.
- Work with RevOps to maintain a robust view of the programmatic pipeline, KPIs, and forecast, reporting regularly to the CRO.
- Work cross‑functionally with Product, General Market Sales, Revenue Operations, Ad/Tech Operations, Finance, and Marketing to ensure alignment on programmatic revenue goals and execution.
Partner prioritization, architecture and development: DSPs, SSPs, and trading desks
- Serve as primary commercial owner for key DSP, SSP partners, negotiating commercial terms, deal structures, and joint business plans.
Sales Process Optimization
- Implement best practices to optimize revenue generation.
Sales leadership and field enablement
- Act as the programmatic subject‑matter expert and “player‑coach” for the sales organization, supporting General Market Sales on programmatic opportunities.
- Develop enablement materials (positioning, playbooks, one‑sheets) to help AEs confidently sell Cast Iron’s programmatic solutions to agencies and brands.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in digital advertising, with at least 5+ years focused on programmatic (PG, PMP, header bidding, exchange‑based buying/selling).
- Deep understanding of the programmatic ecosystem, including DSPs, SSPs, exchanges, data providers, measurement, and brand safety.
- Strong relationships with agency trading desks, programmatic buying units, key DSP partners (e.g., The Trade Desk, DV360, Yahoo, etc.).
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets in a programmatic sales, platform, or publisher role.
- Experience selling or commercializing CTV/OTT, premium video, or sports media inventory strongly preferred.
- High degree of comfort discussing and interpreting campaign performance, bid landscapes, and optimization strategies with buyers and internal stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence senior‑level decision‑makers.
- Proficiency with programmatic platforms and reporting tools, as well as CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot).

This is a hybrid full‑time position reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer; to be based in the New York Metropolitan area or potentially in another major advertising hub city.

Base compensation Range: $150,000-$185,000
Title and actual compensation packages are determined based on several factors, including but not limited to experience, skill set, qualifications and market considerations.
