What You’ll Do

M&A Integration

  • Stand up and run the Integration Management Office (IMO) governance: workstream charters, interdependencies, risk logs, decision forums, KPIs/OKRs, and budget tracking.
  • Drive customer, merchant, and platform integration plans (product/roadmap alignment, data migration, API/tech stack integration, sales coverage, brand/communications, talent & culture, operating model).
  • Ensure robust change management, internal/external communications, legal/regulatory/antitrust commitments, and Day‑1/Day‑2 compliance (incl. data privacy, InfoSec, KYC/AML implications as applicable).

Stakeholder Influence

  • Advise and influence PayPal executives to resolve complex strategic and integration decisions.
  • Translate diligence and integration insights into clear executive choices, trade‑offs, and recommendations.

Team Leadership

  • Mentor and develop a high‑performing team.
  • Elevate Corporate Development’s operating model, templates, and playbooks across diligence and integration.

Required Experience

  • 12+ years total experience in Corporate Development / M&A, including 5+ years leading post‑close integration in a corporate setting with direct accountability for synergy delivery.
  • Demonstrated leadership of end‑to‑end integration/disintegration transactions for mid‑to large‑scale acquisitions and divestments in technology/fintech/payments.
  • Proven cross‑functional leadership across Product, Technology, Risk & Compliance, Legal, HR, Finance, and GTM.
  • Track record presenting to and influencing C‑suite and boards, driving crisp decisions under time pressure.
  • People leadership experience: building teams, mentoring, and developing talent.

Preferred Experience

  • In‑house Corporate Development leadership in payments/fintech or two‑sided network/marketplace businesses; or top‑tier M&A consulting background plus corporate integration leadership.
  • Familiarity with regulatory environments relevant to payments and fintech (data privacy, KYC/AML, licensing considerations) and post‑close commitments.
  • Experience integrating product/platform capabilities (APIs, data migration, identity/security) and standing up operating models and governance for combined businesses.
  • MBA or advanced degree in finance, business, or related field.

Required Core Skills & Competencies

  • Strategic thinking with the ability to convert thesis into executable roadmaps.
  • Executive presence, negotiation, and stakeholder management.
  • Analytical rigor; comfort with ambiguity; bias for action and measurable outcomes.
  • Program leadership: IMO design, dependency/risk management, and change management.
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication; strong executive materials.
  • High integrity and sound judgment with confidential information.

Success Measures (12–18 Months)

  • Integration results: % of synergy capture vs. plan, time‑to‑value, Day‑1/Day‑100 milestone attainment, TSA exit timing, retention of key talent/customers.
  • Synergy realization tracking in place; at least 80–100% of Year‑1 synergy targets on track or achieved.
  • Positive feedback from executive sponsors and cross‑functional leaders; improved Corporate Development operating rhythm and playbooks.
  • Demonstrated team growth and capability uplift (hiring, mentorship, toolkits).
  • Deal outcomes: Close rate and quality; investment case rigor; stakeholder satisfaction.
