Position Overview

The

Google Ads Specialist

is responsible for the hands‑on execution, management, and optimization of Google Ads campaigns across the organization. This role focuses on implementing campaigns, managing performance, and continuously improving results through data‑driven optimization.

Key Responsibilities

Campaign Setup & Execution

Build and launch Google Ads campaigns, including Search, Display, YouTube/video campaigns (as applicable)

Configure keywords, targeting, and bidding strategies

Campaign Management

Monitor and manage active campaigns

Ensure campaigns run effectively and align with goals

Performance Optimization

Analyze campaign performance

Optimize for click‑through rate, conversions, and cost efficiency

Continuously improve results

Keyword Research & Targeting

Conduct keyword research

Identify high‑performing opportunities

Refine targeting strategies

Ad Copy Development & Testing

Create and test ad variations

Optimize messaging for performance

Align copy with brand and campaign goals

Conversion Tracking

Support setup and monitoring of conversion tracking

Ensure accurate measurement and optimize based on data

Analytics & Reporting

Track and analyze campaign data

Provide updates on performance and insights

Support reporting processes

Budget Utilization

Monitor campaign budgets

Optimize spend for maximum impact

Support efficient use of grant or fund resources

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

Work with marketing and program teams for cohesive execution

Compliance & Best Practices

Ensure campaigns follow Google Ads policies

Maintain account health

Documentation & Process Support

Maintain documentation for campaign structure and optimization strategies

Support consistent workflows

Continuous Improvement

Test new strategies and stay current with Google Ads updates

Improve campaign performance over time

Volunteer Commitment Expectations

Estimated Commitment: 10‑15 hours per week

Flexible schedule

Participation in marketing and campaign meetings required

Fully remote

Minimum Qualifications

1–3 years of experience with Google Ads and paid media campaign execution

Understanding of campaign structure, keywords, targeting, and basic performance metrics

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Google Ad Grants (nonprofit preferred)

Google Analytics experience

Experience in nonprofit or mission‑driven organizations

Experience in remote teams
