Description
The purpose of the Social Media Coordinator position is to execute WaterStone Bank’s social media presence through content creation, publishing, and day‑to‑day channel management. The role focuses on bringing social media to life through engaging visuals, short‑form video, and creative content that resonates with our audience. The Coordinator supports the broader marketing strategy while contributing ideas, testing new approaches, and evolving the bank’s social presence over time.
What You Will Be Doing
Develop and execute the social media content calendar, scheduling, publishing, and day‑to‑day management of channels, ensuring consistent delivery aligned with timelines and priorities.
Create engaging, on‑brand content including graphics, short‑form video, and basic motion graphics/animation that align with clear and compelling copy.
Monitor social media channels, respond to comments and messages in a timely, professional manner, actively engage audiences to encourage interaction, and capture content at community events, branch activities, and bank initiatives.
Contribute ideas for content themes, campaigns, and new formats to keep social fresh and engaging.
Track performance metrics, provide insights to the marketing team, using data to refine content and improve results over time.
Collaborate with the marketing team and internal partners to align social media with campaigns and business priorities, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.
Experience
Required
1–3 years of experience in social media, marketing, communications, or content creation (internships included).
Demonstrated ability to create engaging content (portfolio required).
Preferred
Experience creating short‑form video and/or basic motion graphics.
Familiarity with content creation tools such as Canva, CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar.
Basic understanding of how social media supports broader digital marketing efforts.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
