Position Summary

This recruitment will be used to fill two part-time (a maximum of 20 hours per week) Content Creator positions for University Relations and Marketing (URM) at Oregon State University (OSU). URM is looking to hire creators who will help create video and photo content for our centralized OSU social media accounts (@OregonState). The content creator position will support OSU and URM by producing digital content that represents an authentic perspective into student life at Oregon State. Students in this position will be tasked with creating different kinds of content based on their experience and interests. That could include serialized content, TikTok and/or Reels, photography, tiny mic interviews and other media used to showcase a day in the life of Beaver Nation. Students in this role will meet weekly with URM staff and other content creators to share ideas, brainstorm and collaborate to produce content. Any work created by students in this position is available for use on OSU social networks, websites, blogs and other marketing channels.

Position Duties
Produce engaging video content that reflects the student experience at OSU, regularly collaborating with fellow students to showcase the diverse aspects of campus life
Be willing to experiment and try new things
Attend weekly team meetings to pitch and claim content ideas inspired by social media trends, university events or original creative concepts, then move them into production
Tell student stories in fresh, unexpected ways and challenge the status quo through innovative storytelling
Collaborate with other content creators within URM as well as student creatives from the MU Creative Studio and OSU Student Affairs
Students will work together to pitch content ideas informed by social media trends, university events, etc. They will then be assigned content production based on their experience, interests and availability. Students will also be encouraged to collaborate with one another on content ideation and execution. Students should feel comfortable creating videos and being on camera as the subject and/or interviewer.

Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard

High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered "full-time" by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the

Office of International Services

(OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.

Willing to share personal student experiences
Experience using TikTok, Instagram, X, Facebook, YouTube, and other social platforms, with a general understanding of the audiences they serve

Preferred (Special) Qualifications

Experience with photo/video/audio equipment
Familiarity with editing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, Canva)
Experience creating short-form vertical video content
