Job Description
BDO is seeking a driven Marketing & Communications intern who is motivated to do meaningful work and gain valuable experience and skill sets in a people‑first, growth‑centric environment. The intern will work closely with a Marketing & Communications Manager to support diverse individual and group projects. The intern is responsible for assigned projects, working hands‑on with team members to see them through to completion and presenting the project outcomes. The intern will bring value to various teams through an effective project management approach, critical thinking skills, peer engagement, and unique perspectives.
Job Duties
Cross-Functional Project Support
Works with team members to understand goals, timelines, audiences and desired outcomes of assigned projects
Executes project tasks as directed, following department standards and processes
Communicates project status, timelines and risks to project leads across multiple teams
Completes project documentation, summaries and reports as needed
Asks clarifying questions and incorporates feedback to improve quality of work and help drive project success
Marketing & Communications Functional Support
Drafts, edits and formats communications and content for a variety of audiences and channels (internal and external)
Supports the development, review and distribution of deliverables across multiple platforms (e.g., intranet, SharePoint, emails, presentations, campaigns)
Supports projects related to the firm’s internal digital workplace and employee communications platforms
Assists with content updates and user experience improvements across internal platforms
Audits content, documents and platforms to ensure accuracy, consistency and up‑to‑date information
Pulls, organizes and circulates reports and data to support decision‑making
Assists with compiling market, audience and competitor research, as well as organizing inputs from project leads/stakeholders
Supports data quality, content governance and operational documentation efforts
Participates in team meetings, project reviews and brainstorming sessions

Education
Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Business Administration, Marketing, Public Relations or Communications (required)

Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word (required)
Comfortable using digital collaboration tools, project management and content management platforms (e.g., intranet/CMS tools), preferred

Ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm
Comfortable supporting a variety of Marketing & Communications functions

Multi‑task successfully while working independently or within a team environment
Excellent organizational and project management skills
Strong attention to brand voice, tone and message consistency

Salary Ranges
California: $40.00/hr – $45.00/hr
Colorado: $34.00/hr – $38.00/hr
Illinois: $36.00/hr – $40.00/hr
Maryland: $34.00/hr – $38.00/hr
Massachusetts: $36.00/hr – $40.00/hr
Minnesota: $32.00/hr – $36.00/hr
New Jersey: $34.00/hr – $42.00/hr
NYC/Long Island/Westchester: $36.00/hr – $40.00/hr
Washington: $35.00/hr – $40.00/hr
