Looking for a full time staff assistant editor to join the team! We’re a busy Los Angeles-based production company, specializing in television, documentary, live production, commercial, and branded content. We do a lot of action sports content, so knowledge or background in skateboarding, snowboarding, BMX, racing, etc is a major plus.
Qualifications:
- Must be proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro and Avid.
- Experience with other Adobe Creative Cloud applications a plus.
- Knowledge of video specs including file types, codecs, raster sizes, frame rates, etc.
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
- Collaborative and creative sensibility
- Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines on multiple tasks
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with producers, editors, other assistant editors, coworkers, and varying levels of management.
Responsibilities:
- Ingest and transcode media
- Sync footage
- Prep project files and apply organizational structure to projects
- Create multicam sequences
- Gather and organize string-outs and selects
- Export sequences for reviews, transcriptions, references, etc.
- Prep sequences for mix and color turnover
- Light editing, sound design, and coverage
- Provide editorial, creative, and technical assistance to editors and story producers
