Role Overview
The Communications Manager is responsible for shaping and managing Spinelli Kilcollin’s external voice across press, media, and cultural channels. This role oversees the brand’s PR agency while working closely with the Creative Director and leadership team to develop and execute communications strategy.
This role sits at the intersection of press, cultural relevance, and brand narrative, ensuring the brand is not only visible, but understood with clarity and intention. The Communications Manager will translate internal priorities into compelling external storytelling while building relationships that position the brand within both established and emerging cultural spaces. This role combines strategic thinking with hands‑on execution, with the opportunity to grow into a more senior, director‑level position over time.
Responsibilities
Communications Strategy & Narrative
Support development and execution of communications strategy across press, media, and cultural channels
Identify opportunities for storytelling, editorial placement, and brand visibility
Help shape and refine the brand’s voice, messaging, and positioning within fashion and broader cultural conversations
Develop and maintain clear, consistent messaging across all external communications
Write and edit press releases, brand statements, and key messaging documents
Translate internal initiatives into compelling external narratives
Ensure cohesion across press, partnerships, and all public‑facing materials
PR, Media & Agency Management
Manage external PR agencies as an extension of the internal team
Set direction for seasonal stories, launches, and ongoing outreach
Build and maintain relationships with editors, stylists, and media contacts
Drive editorial placements and oversee press inquiries and sample coordination
Influencer, Celebrity & Cultural Placements
Develop and lead strategy for influencer, celebrity, and cultural placements aligned with brand positioning
Partner with the Social team to identify and secure high‑value placements that extend beyond transactional seeding
Build and maintain relationships with key influencers, stylists, celebrities, and cultural figures
Identify opportunities across emerging platforms and cultural moments
Work closely with Creative, Marketing, Product, Merchandising, Retail Environments, Retail, Wholesale, and Social teams
Align communications with campaigns, product launches, and key business initiatives
Act as a connector between internal teams and external perception
Events & Brand Moments
Support planning and execution of press events, previews, and brand activations
Coordinate press attendance, guest lists, and media engagement
Identify opportunities for the brand to participate in meaningful cultural moments
Operations & Brand Stewardship
Track press coverage, media contacts, and communications performance
Build systems for managing relationships and reporting
Ensure all external communications reflect brand integrity and positioning
Tools & Technical Proficiency
Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) for communication and reporting
Figma for reviewing and aligning on visual materials
Adobe Creative Cloud (basic proficiency for reviewing assets)
Familiarity with PR and media databases (Fashion GPS, Launchmetrics, or similar)
Familiarity with project and workflow tools such as Notion
Ideal Profile
Experience in fashion, luxury, or cultural PR and communications
Strong media relationships across fashion, jewelry, and editorial
Experience working with influencers, celebrities, and cultural figures in a strategic capacity
Excellent writing and editing skills with a clear, thoughtful voice
Ability to think strategically while executing day‑to‑day responsibilities
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple timelines and stakeholders
Comfortable managing external partners and collaborating across teams
High level of taste and sensitivity to brand positioning
A strong understanding of the history of art, fashion, and global culture, combined with an awareness of contemporary street culture and emerging movements
Compensation
$100,000–110,000 commensurate with experience.
