Job Summary
ESPN’s Audience Engagement team is seeking a highly motivated Assistant Editor in support of our delivery of video content to multiple digital platforms, including mobile, web and OTTs. Primary responsibilities include creation of custom artwork viewable by ESPN fans for unauthenticated and authenticated VOD and Live airings.
Responsibilities
Work across internal teams to troubleshoot unexpected behavior on the streaming app during live windows.
Work with senior shift leaders to execute on-platform tasks such as metadata updates, platform moves, and schedule/event quality control.
Be given a sport assignment along with a senior member of the team – responsible for custom creative needs, tentpole awareness and planning, and communication with internal partners.
Create VOD and Live airing custom artwork using design software such as Photoshop, ensure it is accurately uploaded into central art software and displayed correctly across all digital platforms.
Qualifications
Minimum 1 year’s experience in sports digital media and/or marketing.
Experience in digital content management systems.
General Photoshop skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple and varied tasks.
Strong sports knowledge relating to teams, players, and storylines.
Preferred Qualifications
Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays, with those shifts being regular and required.
Experience working with a variety of digital content management systems.
Required Education
High School Diploma.
Preferred Education
B.S./B.A. degree in communication arts, journalism or new media or equivalent combination of education experience.
Additional Information
Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Compensation
The hiring range for this position in Bristol, CT is $44,700 to $59,800 per year based on a 40-hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
