University Center (UC) invites applications for a

Graphic Designer II

to support the UC Marketing unit in developing and using effective promotions, communications and informational pieces in a variety of media and formats. The Graphic Designer is responsible for producing a wide variety of printed and digital materials for the University Center and partners.

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities

Produce print and digital publications from concept through delivery, including client consultation, design development, proofing, and file preparation

Translate communication goals into strategic, audience‑focused design solutions using strong knowledge of typography, design, and branding

Collaborate within a marketing team, supporting planning, daily operations, and limited supervision/training of student staff

Manage deadlines and production schedules, prepare print specifications, and coordinate with vendors

Create engaging, brand‑compliant digital content for web, email, and social media, using performance insights to refine strategies

Ensure accessibility, inclusivity, and ADA compliance across all materials while maintaining consistency with institutional standards

Drive innovation by improving processes, adopting new tools and technologies, and contributing creative ideas to enhance visual communication

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma and two (2) years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience designing on a Macintosh or PC computer using software packages such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop

Professional knowledge of the principles, concepts, practices, and methods of graphic design

Regular, but limited, supervision, training, or directing the work assignments of small numbers of student, part‑time or temporary workers

Ability to perform job responsibilities and make decisions with minimal supervision

Ability to navigate and utilize web applications in particular utilizing a content management system to design, update, and manage website

Ability to stay on task and meet deadlines

Demonstrated experience in the development of creative marketing campaigns with preference given to working with and target audience of a young adult population

Manage multiple projects, establish production schedules, set priorities, manage deadlines, delegate tasks/projects, edit work of student staff, provide creative/constructive feedback

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in art, graphic design, or related field

Position Number: 116060

Bargaining Unit: FOCUS‑MFPE

Work Schedule: Full‑time, 1.0 FTE (40 Hours a week), Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm*; 12 months/year (*Varied schedule during events)

Probationary Period: Six (6) months minimum
