Location: 730 E Pilot Road, Las Vegas – less than 10 miles from the Strip. The city’s grid system and status as a “smart city” provide an extensive testing environment.

Mission Summary
Our Autonomous Driving Test Operators act as the “eyes and ears” on the road for engineering teams, providing subjective feedback and objective data as they navigate real-world driving environments to validate Autonomous Driving features.

Essential Duties

Follow all safety policies and procedures while operating prototype-level Autonomous Vehicles on defined and undefined routes in varied geographical and environmental conditions.

Operate in-vehicle data recording computers – start/stop recording, data marking, minor debugging when issues arise.

Provide clear, accurate, and useful subjective feedback to engineering teams on vehicle behavior observed.

Ensure the safe operation of test vehicles on public roads.

Travel for training and collaboration with other vehicle operators.

Complete accident and incident reports as needed.

Communicate effectively in English with first responders if necessary.

Adhere to all Motional AD LLC operating policies, procedures, and directives.

Arrive on time for scheduled shifts with proper driving credentials.

Maintain compliance with local, county, and state traffic laws.

Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including cleanliness of the autonomous vehicle and testing all necessary equipment.

Control and manage emergency situations according to company procedures.

Work effectively as part of a team and operate the AV with another person.

Maintain flexible work schedule.

Utilize JIRA/Confluence software to execute testing tickets and document historical data findings.

Deploy and troubleshoot AVs.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Clean driving record for the previous 3 years; no DUIs in the past 10 years; never at fault in an accident causing injury.

Prior experience as an Operator/Driver for Autonomous Vehicles or related training.

Experience providing subjective feedback on vehicle behaviors and environment.

Successful completion of company in-house driving course/examination.

Local knowledge of Las Vegas streets, geography, and environmental features challenging for Autonomous Vehicles.

Basic smartphone navigation skills.

High school diploma or equivalency.

Availability to work days, nights, and weekends.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to read maps and knowledge of local area.

Professional appearance.

At least ten (10) years of total driving experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Understanding of Linux, Atlassian Confluence, JIRA, GitLab, and Python.

Data analysis experience.

6 months of NHTSA Level 2‑5 Autonomous Vehicle experience.

Physical Demands

Pass a DOT exam.

Remain seated operating a vehicle for up to four hours at a time, up to ten hours per day.

Stay awake and alert throughout the shift.

Working Environment
The work environment includes exposure to outdoor weather, road conditions, pedestrian traffic, mechanical and computer parts, occasional fumes, and moderate noise.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $50,000 — $59,750 USD.

Additional compensation may include bonuses and company equity.
