Job Summary
We are searching for an enterprising and dedicated multimedia journalist at 23 WIFR in Rockford, Illinois. The role requires writing, editing, and shooting engaging, informative, and compelling news and sports content, developing and executing enterprise stories on a regular basis, contributing to news and sports content on the station’s social media and digital platforms, and maintaining an unwavering commitment to accuracy, fairness, and ethics. You will meet daily production deadlines and carry out additional assigned duties.

Responsibilities

Write, edit, and shoot news and sports content.

Develop and execute enterprise stories on a regular basis.

Contribute to news and sports content on the station’s social media and digital platforms.

Maintain an unmistakable commitment to accuracy, fairness, and ethics.

Meet daily production deadlines.

Shoot, write, and edit news packages for air.

Produce content for the website and social media pages.

Bring creative ideas, dig for stories, and pay close attention to detail.

Relate the news and incorporate real people into your work.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Work in a fast‑paced industry and manage deadlines while adapting to breaking news.

Hold a working knowledge of all social media platforms.

Demonstrate strong writing skills.

Show a solid on‑air delivery.

Demonstrate good news judgment and the ability to make quick, accurate decisions.

Possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
