Marching Band Percussion Assistant

The EPHS Marching Band is seeking a part-time Percussion Instructor to support a competitive 1A high school marching band program, working with both the drumline and front ensemble. Responsibilities include assisting with percussion sectionals and full ensemble rehearsals during the fall season, to include summer band camp, weekend rehearsals, and competitions.

Summer Band Camp July 27-31

Weekly Saturday rehearsals 8:00 AM-12:00 PM beginning August 8 through the end of October.

The instructor will collaborate with the band staff to develop students' technical skills, musicality, and ensemble performance, helping to create a cohesive and high-quality percussion program. The Percussion Instructor will also be responsible for percussion part assignments and working with the arranger to adapt and modify the percussion parts.

Qualifications
Preference will be given to applicants with prior teaching experience and/or extensive experience in marching percussion. Ideal candidates are strong communicators, organized, and passionate about student growth in a positive, team-oriented environment. Some schedule flexibility is available, with opportunities to make up missed hours or take on additional hours as needed.

Additional preference will be shown to candidates familiar with marching band sound and amplification systems, and to those experienced and/or willing to work with significant special needs students.

Experience in band preferred but not required. Salary is $23.00 per hour, for an estimated 100-120 hours over the course of the season, no benefits.
