The Role
We're looking for a hands-on Graphic Designer who understands production. You won't just be making things look good — you'll be making sure they're built right.
Day to day, you'll be designing signage layouts, preparing production-ready files, operating large-format printers and vinyl plotters, and lightly supporting the production floor during busy periods. You'll also communicate directly with clients on approvals and revisions, and own jobs from file receipt through final output.
Signage design is different from web or social media work. Files must be technically correct, scalable, and fabrication-ready. That standard is non-negotiable here.
Responsibilities
Create layouts for channel letters, monument signs, window graphics, wall wraps, vehicle graphics, and more
Prepare and verify print-ready artwork for large-format production
Identify and correct client-supplied file issues — PDFs, Word docs, and low-res images are not production-ready; catching that early is part of the job
Run and maintain wide-format printers (training provided if needed)
Perform vinyl cutting, laminating, trimming, and panel mounting
Manage multiple active jobs simultaneously and hit deadlines
Collaborate with production staff and flag problems before they reach the floor
Required Skills
Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator
Solid understanding of vector artwork, large-scale formatting, and print file setup
Ability to identify raster vs. vector issues and resolve them
Experience with typography and layout for physical applications
Strong time management — you\'ll run your own workload without hand-holding
Clear communicator with both clients and teammates
Preferred but Not Required
Experience in a sign shop or print production environment
Familiarity with Flexi, CorelDRAW, or RIP software
Experience operating large-format printers or vinyl cutters
Understanding of color matching, material substrates, and finishing
What We're Looking For
Someone who takes ownership. Moves with urgency. Thinks ahead about how something will actually get built — not just how it looks on screen. Catches problems early. Doesn't need constant direction. And understands that in a small business, flexibility isn't optional.
Compensation
Competitive pay based on experience. Real growth opportunity as we scale.
