Position: Director of Contemporary Music


Mountain Park UMC is seeking a creative, collaborative, and Spirit-led leader to serve as Director of Contemporary Music, a role that is an integral part of our Worship and Creative Arts ministry. We are seeking a team player who can grow with a thriving, diverse community of believers and help cultivate meaningful worship experiences that are rooted in authenticity, connection, and excellence.


This position is best suited for individuals with a passion for contemporary music ministry, an understanding of Wesleyan/United Methodist theology and mission, and a heart for building community through music, creativity, and shared spiritual leadership.


The Director of Contemporary Music will work collaboratively with clergy, staff, volunteers, and musicians to help shape worship experiences that reflect the mission and values of Mountain Park UMC. This leader will create space for people of all ages and backgrounds to encounter God through music and worship that is engaging, thoughtful, and spiritually grounded. They will empower vocalists, instrumentalists, and creative volunteers to embody their gifts through the worship life of the Church, fostering a culture of collaboration, humility, and joyful excellence in service to God and neighbor.


Education and Experience Requirements



  • Bachelor’s required, preferably in a music related discipline

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in music ministry preferred

  • Ability to lead a wide variety of contemporary music styles, including contemporary hymnody

  • The ideal candidate will be a vocalist with the ability to lead from guitar or keyboard.

  • The ideal candidate will commit to presenting United Methodist/Wesleyan theology in worship, and will familiarize themselves accordingly.


Physical Demands


Employee must occasionally lift or move music equipment or other items up to 30 pounds.


Expected Hours of Work


Part-time, 15 hours per week. Employee must be able to work on Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings, and other designated times during the week.


Start Date


The anticipated start date for this position is July 15 or August 1, 2026.
