Software Development Engineer, Event Outfitters Engineering

Passionate about building a service that changes the way customers learn and get hands on with AWS services? Join our developer team building scalable and secure AWS services for hands‑on workshops including Immersion Days and Game Days, helping deliver customer workshops globally.

In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain solutions for managing one of the largest fleets of AWS Accounts, supporting the broader AWS Field and enabling internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement fault‑tolerant systems and services at large scale using AWS services such as Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, API Gateway, CloudFront, SQS, SNS, AppSync, KMS, etc.
  • Own and design multi‑tier distributed software systems, researching and adopting new technologies to optimize performance.
  • Build systems to scale the service up to 5× its current capacity within a year while minimizing outages and improving availability.
  • Estimate effort, plan implementation, and launch systems that meet functional, performance, scalability, reliability, and development goals.
  • Experiment, innovate, and deliver fast, agile, high‑quality products with low technical debt.
  • Leverage Generative AI to automate operational tasks, maintain runbooks, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • 3+ years contributing to system architecture and design (patterns, reliability, scaling).
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Experience building complex software systems successfully delivered to customers.
  • 3+ years of programming with at least one software programming language.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Experience in machine learning, data mining, information retrieval, statistics, or natural language processing.
