Overview

Passionate about building a service that changes how customers learn and get hands‑on with AWS services? Join our developer team building AWS services in scalable and secure ways for hands‑on workshops, including Immersion Days and Game Days. This service helps deliver customer workshops globally at AWS events and to customers and partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement fault‑tolerant systems and services that run at large scale and ensure high availability using AWS services such as Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, API Gateway, CloudFront, SQS, SNS, AppSync, KMS, etc.
  • Own defining, disambiguating, designing, and implementing multi‑tier distributed software systems and applications, researching new technology to optimize performance.
  • Design and implement systems to help our service achieve 5× the current scale within a year and minimize outages.
  • Estimate effort, plan implementation, and launch systems that meet requirements for functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, and adherence to development goals and principles.
  • Experiment, innovate, and deliver fast, agile, and reliable solutions with high quality and low technical debt.
  • Leverage GenAI to automate operational tasks for the team, maintain runbooks, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides based on resolved incidents, code changes, and operational patterns.

About the Team

Our team builds tools and services that enable the AWS field to deliver technical content and hands‑on events securely and efficiently to customers. We support large events such as re:Invent, re:Inforce, and Summits, and collaborate with other internal teams.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • 3+ years of contributing to new and existing systems architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling).
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.
  • 3+ years of programming with at least one software programming language.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Experience in machine learning, data mining, information retrieval, statistics, or natural language processing.

Salary & Benefits

The base salary range for this position is $143,700 – $194,400 USD annually. Compensation includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Benefits include health insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, parental leave, and more.
