Description

Passionate about building a service that changes the way customers learn and get hands‑on with AWS services? Join our developer team to build AWS services in a scalable, secure way for hands‑on workshops, including Immersion Days and Game Days. You will develop solutions for managing one of the largest fleets of AWS accounts and support the broader AWS field in enabling both internal and external customers.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Design and implement fault‑tolerant systems and services that run at large scale and ensure high availability guarantees using AWS services including Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, API Gateway, CloudFront, SQS, SNS, AppSync, KMS, etc.
  • Own defining, disambiguating, designing, and implementing multi‑tier distributed software systems and applications; dive into complex architectures and research new technologies to optimize performance.
  • Design and implement systems that enable the service to grow 5× the current scale within a year and minimize outages to improve availability.
  • Estimate effort, plan implementation, and launch systems that meet functional, performance, scalability, reliability, and development principles.
  • Experiment, innovate, and deliver fast, agile, reliable solutions with high quality and low technical debt.
  • Passionately build, improve, and champion the product; strong sense of ownership is required.
  • Leverage GenAI to automate operational tasks, maintaining runbooks, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides based on resolved incidents and operational patterns.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience – coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • 3+ years contributing to new and current systems architecture and design (design patterns, reliability, scaling).
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Experience building complex software systems successfully delivered to customers.
  • 3+ years programming with at least one software programming language.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Experience in machine learning, data mining, information retrieval, statistics, or natural language processing.

Compensation & Benefits

The base salary range for this position is $143,700.00 – $194,400.00 USD annually. Your Amazon package may include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units. Final compensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. The role offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance, dental, vision, prescription, life insurance, EAP, mental health support, flexible spending accounts, adoption and surrogacy reimbursement coverage, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
