Role Summary
Vice President of Sales responsible for leading local and regional sales teams to meet or exceed sales goals, developing strategic plans, and cultivating a culture of growth. Acts both independently and in collaboration with local and corporate leadership to drive results.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with local/regional and national leadership to develop the growth plan and set annual sales goals for the team.
Communicate sales goals, progress, and updates to all team members throughout the region.
Actively coach and mentor team members to develop sales behaviors and skills.
Guide sales colleagues through coaching, attending new business meetings, and strategizing next steps to advance the sale.
Analyze market trends and develop/implement strategy to capitalize on key market opportunities.
Develop and maintain a pipeline of sales talent within the market.
Lead weekly accountability meetings with the team to review activity, progress, top opportunities, and network development.
Collaborate with local and national marketing teams to develop market branding strategy, including COI’s, key networking events, and new thought‑leadership opportunities.
Identify key industry verticals and execute marketing campaigns with the marketing team.
Analyze all sales metrics (wins, markets, verticals) and make adjustments for continuous improvement.
Identify and cultivate M&A prospects, attending initial meetings to provide an overview of sales strategy.
Develop strategies for convergent sales (P&C, Retirement & Wealth, Rx Consulting, PEO, HR Consulting).
Qualifications and Requirements
Ability to influence colleagues without direct reporting lines.
Strong verbal, nonverbal, and written communication skills.
Skilled at asking good questions and active listening.
Internal and external networking ability, with a portfolio of relationships (inclined toward B2B strategy).
Strong Centers of Influence (COIs) that partner to grow business.
Ability to manage multiple and changing business, colleague, and market priorities and deadlines.
Effective presentation of data, strong interpersonal and social skills.
Thrives in a fast‑paced environment with analytical capabilities.
Proficient in AI tools to facilitate the sales process.
Strong knowledge of employee benefits (required) and P&C background (preferred).
Education, Training and Experience
Bachelor’s degree is required; MBA preferred. Minimum 10years of proven sales and/or sales leadership experience. Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
Compensation
Base pay range: $275,000–$325,000 per year, with potential variable compensation, commission, and/or bonus based on performance.
