Responsibilities

Complete website updates and performance monitoring for the Turbo Lab’s three sites, ensuring compliance, accessibility, and maintenance.

Consult with Senior Program Manager on distribution of symposium proceedings, maximizing exclusive-group reach and securing reliable distribution methods.

Manage loading of proceedings for public consumption with TAMU Library Services, ensuring public availability within Turbo Lab guidelines.

Lead the build and optimization of Turbo Lab’s registration and program submission software, providing technical support and troubleshooting for the Aventri event platform.

Assist with the build and testing of the mobile app for symposia, publishing and monitoring user access, and providing on-site technical support.

Provide on‑site registration and technological support at annual Turbomachinery & Pump Symposia in Houston, coordinating vendor relations and badge printing services.

Perform similar duties supporting the Center’s activities beyond the main symposia throughout the calendar year.

Serve as the primary Turbo Lab staff contact for IT compliance, executing IT tickets, monitoring shared email, and maintaining equipment inventory.

What We Need

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

What Is Helpful

Experience in website design, software systems operation/optimization, and programming.

Preferred Education

Bachelor’s degree in fields such as management information systems, software systems optimization, website design/maintenance, coding, or data analysis.

Preferred Experience

Experience managing sites on WordPress platform and assisting with technical tasks, including learning new software.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Technologically savvy, capable of optimizing event software, troubleshooting issues, and training colleagues.

Willingness to learn and understand different software systems in depth to optimize functionality.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, graphic design, mobile app, repository maintenance, and web accessibility practices.

Ability to work collaboratively within a team and operate applicable computing equipment.

Outstanding interpersonal skills to interact effectively with university personnel and industry contacts.

About The Turbomachinery Laboratory
The Turbomachinery Laboratory (Turbo Lab) conducts fundamental and applied research within Rotordynamics and Mechanical Systems, Thermal Fluids and Combustion, and Computational and Modeling Design. The laboratory sponsors research through government and industry grants and holds the annual Turbomachinery and Pump Symposia (TPS) in Houston and the biennial Asia Turbomachinery and Pump Symposium (ATPS) in Kuala Lumpur.
