Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Business Development Manager
to drive growth by identifying and developing relationships with Medical Affairs leaders across the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry. This individual will play a key role in expanding adoption of HealthCourse’s platform and research solutions within medical affairs organizations.
The ideal candidate has a strong track record of selling into Medical Affairs teams and understands the strategic priorities of medical leaders, including evidence generation, unmet need identification, and scientific engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, target, and develop new business opportunities within Medical Affairs organizations, including Medical Directors, Directors, VPs, and Heads of Medical Affairs
Build and manage a robust pipeline of qualified prospects
Lead outreach efforts and establish relationships with key stakeholders across pharmaceutical and biotech companies
Effectively communicate the value of HealthCourse’s platform in supporting:
Gap analysis research
Care gap identification
Therapeutic category landscape reviews
Collaborate with internal teams to tailor solutions that meet client needs
Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through closing
Stay informed on industry trends, medical affairs priorities, and competitive offerings
Represent HealthCourse at industry events and conferences as needed
Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years of experience
in business development, sales, or account management targeting Medical Affairs teams within life science companies
Demonstrated success selling services, platforms, or solutions to pharmaceutical or biotech companies
Strong understanding of Medical Affairs functions and priorities
Proven ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders (Director, VP level and above)
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
Experience with digital health, research platforms, or insight generation solutions is preferred.
