Pay Range
The pay range for this position is $58,100.00 - $104,600.00. Pay is based on several factors such as labor market, education, work experience and certifications.
About the Role
As an Associate Designer supporting Owned Brand Product Design and Development in Kids or Toddler Apparel, you will work under design leaders to deliver cohesive seasonal product stories that meet design and merchant strategy objectives. You will collaborate with teams such as Textile, Fabric/Raw Materials, Technical Design, Merchant and Sourcing, and external partners.
Responsibilities
Conduct in‑depth trend and market research, synthesize insights, and develop concepts and color/material boards.
Translate aspirational trends into commercially viable product design, including sketches, sizing, fit and fabrication details.
Create both digital and physical presentations (sample boards, computer‑aided illustrations) to showcase brand and product vision.
Assist in preparing product development direction and entering it into the PLM system; maintain CAD sketches, product line sheets, colored CADs, and color/material palettes.
Communicate accurately and timely with internal and external partners throughout product development.
Qualifications
Four‑year degree in Fashion Design or related field.
0‑4 years of experience in product design or related area.
Proficiency with computer‑design systems including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, NewArc, CAD illustration or 2‑D/3‑D software.
Strong eye for detail, trend awareness, and ability to apply market information to design concepts.
Excellent communication and partnership skills across cross‑functional teams and vendors.
Work Arrangement
This position is hybrid/flexible and requires both onsite presence at the Target HQ MN location and remote work, depending on the day’s responsibilities. Work cannot be performed outside of the primary work country except as otherwise prescribed.
