Program Coordinator .
Technical Support & Open Source Project Management
Primary responsibility to manage the OSPO Drupal website including designing, creating, posting new pages, configuring settings, updating content, and managing users.
Manage GW OSPO GitHub repositories including maintaining projects, ensuring versions are synced, and addressing issues and pull requests.
Manage Communications and Marketing OSPO Student Ambassador team. Create, assign, and manage tasking and onboarding.
Create CURIOSS patterns for any new OSPO initiatives and keep existing patterns updated with current information.
Create and update markdown files on the Open Forum for AI (OFAI) Landscape tool and manage GW AI updates.
Design and implement open source educational initiatives, including tabling, posters, social media content, videos, and events to educate students, faculty, and staff about the basics of open source.
Monitor and answer the ospo@gwu.edu email.
Event Planning, Outreach, and Training
Primary responsibility for ongoing communication with GW’s open source community including producing a monthly newsletter, managing email lists in Emma, and drafting and producing engaging content for newsletters and website.
Schedule, book rooms, purchase and set up catering, and support technology for OSPO Stakeholder meetings, GW Coders, GW OSCON, and other OSPO events.
Schedule, communicate with, and book rooms for meetings and events with industry, government, academic, and international partners and potential partners.
Connect and collaborate with targeted student groups to expand knowledge of open source and OSPO services among the GW student population.
Communicate about Python Camp including organizing the open and closing of applications, communicating with applicants/attendees.
Develop and implement social media marketing strategies to improve outreach to various schools, institutes, and student groups.
Create and manage GW-approved marketing graphics, video, photo, and social media content to promote the OSPO and OSPO services to targeted groups across the university and externally.
Plan all marketing and communication for OSCON to include university-wide promotions and targeted communication to the external community.
Promote consultations, OSPO asynchronous workshops, OSPO survey, student awards, project registry, and educational materials, including creating graphics and utilizing all communication channels available.
Provide marketing and communication about OSPO services to support researchers and grants.
Manage payments for student awards and hackathon spot prizes.
Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
