Position Description
Ohio Department of Public Safety – Bureau of Motor Vehicles/Field Operations/In-House Processing Unit

Report in Location: 1970 West Broad Street, Columbus, OH 43223

Work Hours: Monday - Friday 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, promote & direct assistance & informational services to respond to complaints, inquiries && requests for information for variety of clients & supervise assigned staff.

Direct & coordinate all activities of the Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV), In-House Processing Unit, including all Covert issuances in the Field Operations Section.

Direct assistance & information services in response to complaints, inquiries, && requests for information from governmental agencies & businesses.

Act as a liaison between subordinate employees & the general public.

Develop procedures to facilitate training on In-House issuance, & accurate telephone service to clients in conjunction with Section Chief & Deputy Administrator.

Qualifications

12 months training or 12 months experience in departmental operations, programs, policies & procedures for assigned agency

12 months training or 12 months experience in federal & state laws regarding operation of assigned agency

1 course or 3 months experience in public relations

1 course or 3 months experience in applications of mathematical, analytical & or statistical methods used in formulating & solving problems or in decision making

1 course or 3 months experience in public speaking, speech or communication

6 months training or 6 months experience in supervisory principles/techniques

Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above
