Your Role We’re hiring a cross-channel Media Planner to manage day-to-day planning responsibilities. The Planner contributes to strategic media plan development and is able to articulate the holistic plan narrative, including tactical details and campaign performance. A successful Planner is resourceful, organized and energetic throughout the planning process, and is a strong communicator (oral and written) comfortable in a fast-paced environment handling multiple projects.
This role requires proximity to New York City. We offer a hybrid work arrangement with a combination of onsite work and the flexibility to work from home.
Responsibilities The Planner maintains and grows knowledge of both online and offline media channels.
Collaborates with Investment, Analytics and Strategy teams to ensure actionable audience insights are incorporated into strategic recommendations.
Manages weekly status calls and serves as the main point of contact with clients.
Manages client budgets and maintains holistic media plan accuracy.
Monitors changing media and client trends.
Collaborates on tactical presentations with the Investment team, ensuring a clear story built around the strategic plan.
Utilizes tools such as Vivvix/Pathmatics, YouGov, MRI/Simmons, Infegy, Commspoint, RBOO and NMI and uses data rigorously.
Acts as the first gatekeeper and reviewer for Assistants’ work.
Articulates an understanding of quantitative media strategy elements (media mix, channel roles, reach and frequency, flighting) in support of the supervisor/director narrative.
Understands client business objectives and how media supports them.
Encourages media and creative integration through cross-agency collaboration and timelines.
Develops holistic, strategic media plans in partnership with Supervisors and Directors.
Translates target audience behaviors into actionable segments with the Investment team.
Interrogates tactical plan details to ensure strategy pull-through.
Develops strategic media POVs for clients.
Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree
2+ years of experience in media planning at an ad agency
Ability to manage multiple client projects and meet deadlines
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills in a fast-paced environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent analytical and math skills
Ability to work independently and manage projects from start to finish
Experience mentoring junior team members
Proactive, with initiative to learn new skills and manage workload
Professionalism and confidence when working with vendors, team members and clients
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
Experience with tools such as Vivvix/Pathmatics, YouGov, MRI/Simmons, Infegy, Commspoint, RBOO and NMI
Compensation & Location Salary range $65k–$75k. Commensurate with experience. Compensation is determined based on skills, qualifications and tenure. This role requires proximity to New York City with a hybrid work arrangement.
