Job Summary
We’re hiring a cross‑channel Media Planner to manage day‑to‑day planning responsibilities. The Planner focuses on strategic media plan development and is able to discuss the holistic plan narrative, tactical details and campaign performance. The role requires proximity to NewYorkCity and offers a hybrid work arrangement that combines on‑site work with remote flexibility.
Core Responsibilities
The Planner maintains and grows a foundational knowledge of both online and offline media channels
Collaborates with Investment, Redbox (Analytics) and Strategy team members to ensure actionable audience insights are incorporated into strategic recommendation
Manages weekly status calls and serves as the main point of contact with clients
Manages client budgets and upkeep of flowcharts to maintain holistic media plan accuracy
Monitors the pulse on changing media and client trends
Collaborates on tactical presentations with the Investment team, assuring a clear story and approach which is built around the strategic presentation
Masters tools like Vivvix/Pathmatics, YouGov, MRI/Simmons, Infegy, Commspoint, RBOO and NMI and questions data and usage rigorously
The first ‘gatekeeper’ and reviewer for Assistant’s work
Articulates a strong understanding of quantitative media strategy elements – media mix, role of channel, reach and frequency, flighting strategy, etc.
Fully comprehends client business objectives and the role media is meant to play in accomplishing them
Proactively encourages media + creative integration through cross‑agency presentations and timelines
Quality Focus
Develops holistic, strategic media plans in partnership with Supervisors and Directors
Understands target audience behaviors & drivers and works with Investment team to translate those qualities into actionable segments
Successfully interrogates tactical plan details to ensure strategy pull through
Understands media metrics beyond the brilliant basics, including layers of quality, effectiveness, etc.
Encourages thinking outside of the box
Develops strategic media POVs for clients
Personal Development
Participates in training programs to enhance their professional growth
Mentors Assistant Planner; provides ongoing feedback and reviews to guide growth
Displays a high level of personal dedication and motivation
Positively contributes to our culture
Troubleshoots team issues and concerns

Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree
2‑3 + years of experience in media planning at an ad agency
Ability to juggle multiple client projects and responsibilities and meet deadlines
Attention to detail and organizational skills while working in a fast‑paced environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent analytical and math skills
Capable of working independently and managing projects from start to finish
Experience with managing and mentoring junior team members
Takes initiative in acquiring new skills and taking on a workload
Professionalism and confidence in working with vendors, team members and clients
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially a very high proficiency in working in Excel is a must requirement

Physical Demands
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
Ability to stand, bend, and reach
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)

Salary range $63k – $75k. Compensation is determined on the skills, qualifications and tenure of the applicant.
