YOUR ROLE
We are hiring a cross‑channel Media Planner to manage day‑to‑day planning responsibilities. The Planner focuses on strategic media plan development and is responsible for articulating the holistic plan narrative, including tactical details and campaign performance.
Provide reliable, ethical service and operate in the best interest of Crossmedia and its clients.
Maintain and grow a foundational knowledge of both online and offline media channels.
Collaborate with Investment, Redbox (Analytics), and Strategy teams to incorporate actionable audience insights into strategic recommendations.
Manage weekly status calls and serve as the main point of contact with clients.
Manage client budgets and upkeep flowcharts to maintain holistic media plan accuracy.
Monitor changes in media and client trends.
Collaborate on tactical presentations with the Investment team, ensuring a clear story and approach built around the strategic presentation.
Master tools such as Vivvix, Pathmatics, YouGov, MRI/Simmons, Infegy, Commspoint, RBOO, and NMI; rigorously question data and usage.
Act as the first ‘gatekeeper’ and reviewer for assistant Planner work.
Articulate a strong understanding of quantitative media strategy elements—media mix, channel role, reach and frequency, flighting strategy.
Fully comprehend client business objectives and the role media plays in achieving them.
Proactively encourage media and creative integration through cross‑agency presentations and timelines.
Focus on producing a high‑quality product, adhering to Crossmedia’s standards.
Develop holistic, strategic media plans in partnership with supervisors and directors.
Understand target audience behaviors and drivers, translating these into actionable segments with the Investment team.
Interrogate tactical plan details to ensure strategic pull‑through.
Understand media metrics beyond the basics, including layers of quality and effectiveness.
Encourage innovative thinking and develop strategic media points of view for clients.
Contribute to a positive team culture and troubleshoot team issues.
Mentor assistant Planner, providing ongoing feedback and reviews to guide growth.
Maintain a high level of personal dedication and motivation.
Participate in training programs to enhance professional growth.
Location note:
This role requires proximity to NewYork City. A hybrid work arrangement is offered, combining onsite work with flexible home‑office options.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree.
2–3+ years of experience in media planning at an ad agency.
Ability to juggle multiple client projects, meet deadlines, and maintain high organizational detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent analytical and math skills.
Ability to work independently and manage projects from start to finish.
Experience managing and mentoring junior team members.
Self‑motivated initiative to acquire new skills and take on workload.
