Role
Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. Utilizes computer‑aided design equipment and graphic tools such as CAD, CAM or CATIA. Gathers information, conducts studies, performs calculations, and prepares original rough layouts and sketches to present design proposals. Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning groups to ensure ease of manufacture, material availability, and contractual compliance.

Must Have

Associate’s degree or other 2‑year technical degree in a related discipline and at least 1 year of experience.

High school diploma or GED with five years of related experience.

Ability to obtain a Secret clearance (required).

Nice to Have

Working knowledge of Electrical/Electronics systems on U.S. Navy Surface Combatants.

Computer skills and effective communication when interfacing with other disciplines during drawing development.

Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft products.

Ability to work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision during offsite obligations.

Shipboard experience with LCS, LPD‑17, and LHD/LHA classes of ships.
