Camp Fire Alaska Program Staff

Due to our current staffing needs we are prioritizing hiring staff that have full shift availability.

Camp Fire Alaska aims to help youth develop social, emotional, physical, and academic skills that will help them see and reach their full potential. We do that by facilitating hands‑on, educational activities such as arts and crafts, sports, games, structured play and more, all in a safely organized after school program setting.

Position
Program Staff: Work between 20‑25 hours per week (average), supervising activities with groups of youth. 4 hours daily of site time, up to 1‑2 additional hours daily for meetings and trainings (times vary).

School Age Program (August – May) Monday – Friday, 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm. Pay: $18.03 /hour (*$18.56 /hour after 6 months*). Available Locations: Aquarian, Alpenglow, Chugiak, Denali, Gladys Wood, Government Hill, Huffman, O'Malley, Oceanview, Ravenwood, Rogers Park, Sand Lake, Scenic Park, Susitna.

Requirements

Minimum age limit is 16 years old (we are currently prioritizing staff 18 and older due to licensing ratio requirements).

Ability to transport yourself to work (school site, Camp Fire office).

Be flexible in work assignment (may be sent, as needed, to a different work location).

Preferred

Experience working with kids in a group setting is preferred.

Experience, training, or education in youth development, education, or recreation is preferred.

Required Certifications

Adult/Child/Infant CPR, AED & First Aid.

Food Worker Card.

Mandated Reporter training certificate.

Health & Safety certificate.
