Job Responsibilities

Daily digital pre‑press, job setup, and production of varied print requests using digital printing presses, wide‑format printers, bindery and finishing equipment.

Create, produce, and install wide‑format graphics at the Print Center and other campus locations.

Monitor the print management system for incoming digital print orders, create new tickets for emailed jobs, and update job statuses. Provide estimates and invoices as needed and register new users for web‑to‑print functionality.

Deliver customer service at the walk‑up window, via email, and phone.

Assist customers with inquiries on file design, setup, production standards, and templates for printed materials.

Monitor inventory levels of paper, stationery, digital press, wide‑format, and finishing supplies.

Process order requests through outside vendors and assist the supervisor in purchasing outside print jobs as necessary.

Assist the supervisor in hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising student employees, including delegating finishing tasks and deliveries.

Participate in assessing department technologies, workflow processes, and other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Occasional maintenance of production and finishing equipment.

Education / Experience

Required:

High School Diploma.

Preferred:

Associate of Applied Science or Bachelor’s Degree.

Related experience:

Aptitude for math, mechanical skills for working with equipment/machinery, experience with variable data printing.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat Pro.

Knowledge of various file formats, file management processes, and data storage standards.

Attention to detail and strong organization in a fast‑paced environment.

Physical Demands

Standing, sitting, walking, reaching, and bending throughout the day.

Heavy lifting (e.g., cartons, rolls, cut paper stock, fulfilled print orders, 5–50 lbs); carts and hand‑trucks available.

Manual dexterity: computer keyboard, office equipment, operating maintenance of production, bindery, and finishing equipment; occasional use of hand tools.

Use of storeroom step stool and ladder.

Supervision of Employees
Supervision of 6–8 student employees.

Equipment to be Used

Finishing equipment: GBC and Accubind bindery equipment, power paper cutter, power creaser/perforator.

Electronics: PC with Microsoft OS, Adobe Creative Cloud, Fiery Command Workstation.

Job Type and Hours
Full‑time, 40‑hour work week, Monday–Friday, 7:30 am–4:30 pm. Hours may occasionally extend on short notice to accommodate rush jobs.
