Senior Account Executive – Agency

As a Senior Account Executive supporting the Retail Consultancy team, you will play a vital role in bringing retailer‑specific strategies to life through day‑to‑day execution and cross‑functional coordination. Sitting between strategic planning and flawless activation, you’ll be responsible for moving work forward, ensuring accuracy, and supporting the team in delivering exceptional, retail‑aligned solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage timelines, deliverables, budget management, and task lists for assigned programs, ensuring on‑time and on‑strategy execution across shopper, retail media, and in‑store deliverables.
  • Support the translation of retail strategy into executional briefs and client‑ready documents that reflect retailer nuances, tone, and tactics.
  • Partner closely with creative, project management, media, and RMN and 3P vendors to move work through the system efficiently.
  • Keep project trackers up to date, facilitate internal status updates, and flag risks or roadblocks to the Account Supervisor or Director.
  • Review and route deliverables for accuracy, brand alignment, and retailer compliance before client review.
  • Stay informed on retailer‑specific platforms, programs, and processes, and help ensure our work meets all requirements for execution.
  • Support client‑facing team members by preparing materials, taking notes, and capturing next steps during meetings.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and own assigned relationships that build a trust‑based partnership with client teams, agency partners and third‑party vendors.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of consumer/shopper marketing landscapes and the client’s own industry to develop new business opportunities and potential revenue streams within existing client.
  • Design and lead proposal and program development presentations with support and guidance from Director.
  • Supervise and/or directly manage program execution, budgets, tracking, and post‑promotional reporting in accordance with company systems and processes.
  • Contribute to recruiting, hiring, training, and development of direct reports with support of Director.
  • Partner with Planning team members to develop category, channel, customer and competitive brand marketplace insights, identify most valuable consumer targets, communication strategy, innovation opportunities, promotion program objectives, strategies, and tactical recommendations for programs.
  • When relevant, demonstrate thought leadership, channel expertise and strategic integration with client agency partners.
  • Communicate and interact effectively with internal teams for all departments and/or clients to deliver timely client decisions and approvals.
  • Identify cross‑company marketing service revenue‑driving opportunities.
  • Successfully manage and develop Agency cross‑functional team members.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Direct reports: hire, retain, train, coach, guide, direct, and develop direct reports using company‑wide processes, tools and resources.
  • Indirect reports: may delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports.

What You Bring

  • 3–5 years of experience in an agency or CPG environment, preferably in shopper marketing, retail media, or commerce activation.
  • Working knowledge of key U.S. retailers (e.g., Walmart, Target, Kroger, Dollar General, Family Dollar) and how brands execute within their ecosystems.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Proactive communicator, problem solver who thrives in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Familiarity with retail media networks, shopper tactics, and executional workflows.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with a bias for action and learning.
