Job Summary
The Communications Graphic Designer will work as part of the team responsible for SC TEACHER’s communications brand and the expansion and implementation of communications strategies and policies to support the strategic goals of SC TEACHER. The position involves research report design, creation of graphics for social media, marketing, and team presentations, and event preparation and setup to support overall communications and operations.
Responsibilities
Graphic Design : Execute and coordinate graphic design of research materials such as monthly reports and data visualizations, collaborating with communication and research teams to transform ideas into full design, both print and online.
Marketing Materials Creation : Design and support the creation of marketing materials, including postcards, handouts, flyers, and event materials, in accordance with the SC TEACHER brand and team goals.
Event Preparation and Coordination : Collaborate with event facilitators, operations team, and communications team to prepare necessary materials for SC TEACHER events, such as swag, handouts, branded décor, and facilitation items.
Project Management : Track project goals and steps to achieve those goals, document relevant discussions and information in a project management system (Basecamp).
Qualifications
Education & Experience : Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 2 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of certification, training, and experience.
Preferred Qualifications :
Strong skills with Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Illustrator and InDesign.
Ability to apply visual design principles and brand guidelines to any project.
Strong visual communication skills, including presentation creation and brand adherence.
Experience with project management and/or event coordination.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Demonstrated experience with Adobe Illustrator, InDesign.
Attention to detail and organizational skills.
Familiarity with web design and HTML.
Ability to proofread and follow a style guide.
Experience with a project management system (e.g., Monday, Asana, Basecamp).
