Lifecycle & Retention Strategist

This role sits at the intersection of strategy, data, and customer experience, focused on helping high-growth subscription e-commerce brands significantly improve customer lifetime value and long-term retention. You will act as a key strategic partner to clients, shaping lifecycle marketing programs that directly impact revenue, churn reduction, and subscriber engagement. The environment is fast-paced and highly analytical, with strong emphasis on experimentation, performance measurement, and continuous optimization. You will work across multiple client accounts, collaborating with specialists in CRM execution, design, and copywriting to bring retention strategies to life. This is a client-facing role requiring both strategic thinking and hands-on ownership of lifecycle marketing performance. Your work will directly influence how leading CPG subscription brands scale sustainably.
Accountabilities:
Develop and execute lifecycle and retention strategies to maximize LTV and reduce churn across subscription-based brands
Own client relationships as the main strategic point of contact for retention marketing initiatives
Build and optimize lifecycle journeys including email/SMS automations, segmentation, and retention flows in tools like Klaviyo
Conduct cohort and customer behavior analyses to identify trends and retention opportunities
Manage retention calendars and campaign planning across multiple client accounts
Analyze performance metrics and provide actionable insights to improve retention outcomes
Collaborate with CRM specialists, designers, and copywriters to execute high-impact campaigns
Lead retention projects end-to-end, ensuring timely delivery and strong performance results
Continuously monitor industry trends in subscription commerce and lifecycle marketing to inform strategy
Strengthen long-term client relationships and contribute to account growth and retention
Requirements:

This role requires strong experience in lifecycle or retention marketing within e-commerce or subscription-based business models, combined with a deep understanding of customer data, CRM systems, and performance-driven marketing. The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on, with strong client management skills and the ability to turn data into actionable growth strategies.
4+ years of experience in retention marketing, lifecycle marketing, CRM, or similar roles
Strong expertise in Klaviyo (flows, automations, segmentation, reporting, and lifecycle strategy)
Proven ability to conduct cohort analysis and derive insights from customer behavior data
Experience working with e-commerce, DTC, or subscription-based brands
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into strategic recommendations
Excellent client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills
Experience managing multiple accounts or projects in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with subscription platforms such as ReCharge, Skio, or similar tools is a plus
Strong understanding of subscription commerce and customer lifecycle marketing principles
Comfortable using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) to improve productivity and workflow efficiency
